Safeguarding

St Margaret's Church takes its responsibilities for safeguarding very seriously.
 

  • All members of the Ministry team and PCC have undertaken safeguarding training.

  • All members of the Ministry team and PCC are DBS checked

  • All members of the church who support our regular activities are DBS checked

  • St Margaret's follows the Diocese of Peterborough's guidelines for safeguarding

The Church of England’s safeguarding policy statement, Promoting a Safer Church, says:

“All Church bodies should ensure that they have a ‘Promoting a Safer Church’ action plan in place that sets out, in line with national and local priorities, how the policy is being put into action and is reviewed regularly.”

​

To that end the PCC have completed the Promoting a Safer Church Action Plan - Level 3 and all our policies are reviewed annually.

St Margaret's Church follows the Church of England guidance in its Parish Safeguarding Handbook, a copy of which can be accessed here.  

Our Parish Safeguarding Officer is Ray Smith.
